Bengali Hindus are dying

Let’s begin the countdown

"Freedom is not absolute, if you don't defend it, you lose it. If you give in to the threat of violence, there won't be less violence, there will be more." – indeed a fine speech depicting the cruel reality and it was said by Salman Rushdie at the concluding dinner at the two-day India Today Conclave at the Taj Palace Hotel held recently.

No sane individual across the globe, learned enough as regards the changes of history and ups and downs (portraying the developments one has got to through for ever and a day), can ever deny its authenticity. No victor or even loser can also rebuff this genesis of struggle. Nevertheless, Hindus prove to be defiant (in this case at least)!

Hindus, especially Bengali Hindus, being confounded and suppressed by many factors ranging from the weird saga of secularism to Islamic fundamentalism, remain candid enough to deny the same. Why? Here is the answer – Bengali Hindus have never learnt from history, they do not have the basic idea of the teachings of Hinduism and hence, how to cope with the changing reality and make use of it to sustain its own identity and true independence (not giving in to its perpetual antagonists – Islamists in reality). Bengali Hindus, thus become the perfect epitome of the aphorism of George Santayana, “Those that fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.” And the Bengali Hindus go on repeating the same mistakes again and again; perhaps the same will take place till their doomsday.

Is this scribe becoming too pessimistic?  Or is he too harsh to say the aforementioned words? Or is there any hope still? Well, the scribe, also being a Bengali Hindu, can certainly paint a rosy future. Sadly, he, being conscious of history and also of the fast deteriorating reality, can’t state any such. Self-deception is bad and also harmful. Isn’t it? What else can be said witnessing the morale (down in the mouth), imbecility, ignorance and gutlessness of Bengali Hindus?

Do the Bengali Hindus know their position really? The truth is – they are on the verge of extinction; their religious and linguistic identities have become rib-tickling or simply laughable. Bengali Hindus, from 1947, divided into two countries mainly, India and Bangladesh, have been illustrating their gutlessness with each day it passes. Without doubt, Bengali Hindus suffered highly during the British hegemony owing to their recurrent protests, agitations and also rebellious approaches to dethrone the foreign, imperialistic rule.

What did they get in return? The defiant community became the last casualty of British Empire; they were divided into two dominions of India and Pakistan. And in Pakistan, from its inception, they did become the sole target of religious persecutions. The condition, instead of improving in Bangladesh following 1971, remained the same (in the initial years) and by now it has become an all-time low. Population of Bengali Hindus (29% in 1949) there has come down to mere 10% and not a day is there when no atrocity on Hindus come to pass. Yet their counterparts in India, instead of mulling over these naked facts, prefer to remain reluctant and occupied in their own affairs.  What they do not know is that by remaining silent they are moving to their own death sentences faster.

The condition in West Bengal, to be precise, is out of the frying pan into the fire. While their descent was under a carpet thanks to the crafty Left rule, it is highly discernible in the existing regime.  Myriad reports have already been published in this website portraying how the Bengali Hindus are being thrashed, persecuted in their homeland, created in the harrowing days of partition (in 1947) to steer clear of the juggernaut of Islamists. But the gradual (and sometimes fast) illegal migration of Islamists from across the border into India, went unnoticed by them, especially the Bhadraloks, going on for decades have turned them into a minuscule proportion in various parts of the state.

The condition of Bengali Hindus in Assam is no better; nonetheless, their foremost fault has been to seek leadership from the dying Hindus in Bengal. And the same deduction goes for Hindus in Bangladesh too. Bengali Hindus are basically bigmouthed and they, if there is any chance, can spend hours through talking of crises ( of various forms) in an assortment of areas, whether it is Argentina or Russia or Hispanic nations or even BRICS or banana republics. But they remain hesitant or apprehensive to raise voices for their own interests.

How many Bengali Hindus have been heard to protest against the recurrent and steadfast muscle-flexing tactics of Islamists in Kolkata even? Not a single one; if there is someone even, he/she prefers to remain vocal within the four walls in own abode. Who will lend his/her ear to such cowards? No one; life, indeed, is very fast nowadays and hence, no time can be given to cowards. There was a time when, being influenced by Swami Vivekananda, lost valor of Bengali Hindus was restored. Physical culture became order of the day and as per history, on the strength of same discipline and valor, racial extermination of Bengali Hindus in August, 1946 was averted.

What will happen now is too obvious. Days have changed and the ideals of Swami Vivekaknda do not attract Hindus youths anymore. Ipods, laptops and cell phones have become the latest fashion icon among them. And none of these can save people from the impending catastrophe.

People who are dreaming to make their lads or gals technocrats or bosses in IT world must bear in mind that refugees have no identity, none cares for them (millions of Bengali Hindus can testify the same) and virtually, any refugee is a persona non grata in each territory.

While more and more areas in Bengal are getting vulnerable to Islamic onslaughts, Kolkata is also having the same destiny - high-handedness of Islamists and their hostile challenges to the administration and capitulation of the later each time makes all apprehensive of the worst. If it remains unchecked, Bengali Hindus will become refugees once more; the only option, then, will be nothing except self-annihilation (en masse).

To call the mounting danger a halt, Bengali Hindus will have to clutch at straws now – this is the last time, there will not be the next one ever.

Not interested? Too much busy with own job? Be sure neither you nor your babies will be there to witness burning of lofty dreams. All will be slain by that time.

Nawabzada Liaqat Ali Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan later on, elucidating the implications of the Direct Action threat, said: “Direct Action means resort to non-constitutional methods, and that can take any form which may suit the conditions under which we live.  We cannot eliminate any methods.  Direct Action means any action against the Law.”

Application of same non-constitutional methods, these days, is getting common increasingly.

Take care.

Barisal Genocide, 1950 remains a permanent scar

Partition of India in 1947 forms one of the darkest chapters in the history of Indian subcontinent but unfortunately, only a few chapters of that gruesome tale, pertained to Bengali Hindus, has been unfolded yet. And there can’t be any second thought in this regard. While contemporary journalists along with historians and political scientists, owing to weird reasons, refrained from exploring partition-related facts, there was no effort in the following ages too. What’s more important, witnesses of those carnages, especially genocide of 1950 in East Pakistan, remain silent still. Only a few of them have become vocal of late but it’s less than essential yet.

Nevertheless, even if there are a few available facts of Barisal genocide, 1950, they do confirm how religious bigotry of Muslims or savage Islamic fundamentalism succeeded to exterminate and uproot Hindus there racially, followed by in rest of East Pakistan soon.

What happened in 1950 was quite different from partition riots in 1947, where two warring communities in then undivided India fought face to face mostly, even if bids to racially exterminate others completely were also taking place. On the contrary, East Pakistan genocide of 1950 refers to mass execution of Bengali Hindus by Muslim mobs, the Pakistani police and the para-military force accompanied by arson, loot, rape and abduction in the months of February and March 1950.

In accordance with both governmental and non-governmental sources, no less than 1 million Bengali Hindus were forced to migrate to India by the end of 1950. Connivance of then Pakistani administration, calling the shots in both West and East, played the most crucial role here. Genocide, to be precise, took place in various areas of East Pakistan like Kalshira, District:Khulna; Nachole, District: Rajshahi; but the carnage in Barisal district surpassed others.

In the district of Barisal, riots commenced on 13th February and within a few following days Hindus were killed, raped and abducted at random. As said by the press note of then Government of East Pakistan, two anonymous youths began to spread aggressive rumors on the afternoon of 13th February in the town of Barisal. This led to closure of many shops. Another rumor– murder of Fazlul Haque in Kolkata also played a nefarious role.

Liberal sources confirm that eight places, at least, were set on fire during the same night. Soon 30 houses and shops were reduced to ashes and ten persons were brutally burnt. The situation worsened more following 16th February when indiscriminate loot and arson of Hindu properties initiated in Gournadi, Jhalakati and Nalchiti under Sadar sub-division of Barisal district. None can believe that Hindu passengers on the water route between Barisal and Dhaka were killed within the steamer and corpses were thrown into the river. But it is a reality.

A great number of Hindus, fleeing for life, took shelter in the police station in river port of Muladi in Barisal district. But no mercy was shown to them and they were attacked later within the police station compound. Most of them were killed in a flash. A revered Hindu school teacher was roasted alive by his Muslim students; they were found to dance at that time.

Here is another incident. In the village of Madhabpasha, under Babugunge police station presently Babuganj upazila, District Barisal, three hundred Hindus, if not more, were rounded up by a Muslim mob. Hindus were forced to crouch in a row; their heads were lopped off separately with aramda (traditional village weapon).
An assortment of chronicles confirms that alleged low-caste Hindus did not flee from East Pakistan en masse like high-caste Hindus even in 1947. They had the hope to live in their ancestral villages but Barisal genocide, 1950 shattered all hopes once and for all.

Three Bengali Hindu ministers – Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Kshitish Chandra Niyogi of India and Jogendranath Mandal, Pakistan resigned protesting against governments’ failure to protect Bengali Hindus in East Pakistan.

Even if killings decreased with the signing of Delhi Pact between India and Pakistan to ensure security of the minorities in the two dominions, substantial expulsion of Bengali Hindus from East Pakistan was completed by then. What remains these days is nothing but a deep scar that can’t be nursed ever.

Demographic coup of Islam: Agony of Hindu Civilization

by R K Ohri

India faces a major demographic upheaval. The sharply rising Muslim numbers, both in absolute and percentage terms, and a corresponding decline in the population of Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists has the potential to escalate fault-line conflicts and create a Lebanon-like situation. Data from the last six censuses held since 1951 suggests that in percentage terms there has been a relentless increase in the population of only one community, the Muslims; all other communities are in a declining mode. Since 1981, Muslim population growth has been in a fast forward mode, growing at almost 45% higher rate than Hindus and Christians. In terms of percentage, Sikh population has recorded the steepest decline since independence.

Islamists persecute Hindus in Etinda Panitar village Panchayat, Basirhat

Can myth of Rule of Law make Hindus there confident anymore?

Basirhat is moving towards an Islamic hegemony speedily; this deduction is not based on any fiction but hard facts – facts that are cruel enough to send shudder through the backbone of any sane and patriotic individual. Religious persecutions on Hindus led by Islamists have become order of the day in Basirhat and with each day it passes, intensity of crime, persecution and hatred against Hindus gets increased.

Kalipuja is organized under the aegis of Panitar Market Committee, in the area of Etinda Panitar village Panchayat, P.S. Basirhat, Sub-division: Basirhat, District: 24 Paraganas (North), every year. Fair does also take place (for 4 days at a stretch) to celebrate the joyous environment. On March 10, 2012, the Kalipuja (of this year ) was organized. Hindus, in and around Etinda Panitar village Panchayat , were perceived to make merriment.

On March 12, 2012, at 7 pm, an Islamist youth was caught red-handed while attempting to molest a Hindu housewife in the fair. Credit goes to the Committee members who never missed a chance to identify the felon and make him stop. The Islamist ruffian, as expected, was manhandled and thrashed in addition. However, he was not alone; his cohorts (6 Islamists) clashed with the Committee members repeatedly to save him. All efforts failed at that time.

The gang withdrew but returned with more men of Muslim-dominated village: Nikaripara after 45 minutes and thrashed everyone they found before them. Microphones were broken and the open-air drama was also stopped. Committee members phoned police a lot but none (either from P.S. Basirhat –located at 10 kilometers away or its local outpost) did appear. Finally BSF had to intervene (Etinda Panitar village Panchayat is in the India-Bangladesh border area) to rein in the fervid disturbance. 2 police personnel in civil dress appeared once the fiery mob of Islamists was restrained but no Islamist was arrested.

Nevertheless, the situation was far from over. At 8.30 pm, a large contingent of Islamists from Nikaripara (comprising almost all villagers including young and old and children and women) stormed the Hindu-dominated village: Daspara (organizer of Puja and fair) to teach Hindus a lesson. Hindus, en masse, were thrashed brutally and many of them had to flee for the sake of life. To save the situation and also skin and  kith and kin of Hindus, Mr. Tapan Pal, head of Etinda Panitar village Panchayat, and Mr. Dilip Das, member of the same Panchayat, phoned police and after frequent pleas police appeared at 10 pm.

Even if the police force succeeded to overpower Islamists, Hindu village and its dwellers were completely destroyed by that time.

To find a solution out, a peace meeting took place at P.S. Basirhat on March 13, 2012, and it was joined by members of both communities. Police became successful to restore normalcy but no Islamist was taken into the custody. Hindus left the police station disgracefully while Islamists were found to celebrate their unprecedented victory.

On March 14, 2012, just on the next day, Mr. Biswanath Das, resident of Daspara and also the first to protest against the attempt to molest, became victim of a cruel thrashing.  He is known to be in a critical condition in a local hospital, at the moment.

Here is a question to the readers. Such incidents are getting more and more common in Bengal these days – resembling the days before partition in 1947. What do these incidents bear out? It’s a single aspect on the whole – national sovereignty and rule of law has become the greatest casualty in this part of India.

Both cease to exist in Basirhat.

The mighty fortress of Brahmanism

“The mighty fortress of Brahmanism” is the phrase used by Monier Williams (author of the Sanskrit English Dictionary, 1899) to describe Hinduism. It is a mix of ignorance, hatred, fascination, racism, and the desire to overcome this religion by an ignorant colonialist of the 19th century, but it sums up the general ignorance of the Christian West regarding Hinduism, much like the seven blind men who tried to describe an elephant by touching one part of the animal and proclaiming that it represented the whole elephant!

Indian sovereignty comes to a standstill in Bangaon

Will the India-Bangladesh border area be ceded ultimately?

It is no secret to the regular readers of this website (hindusamhati.org) or even to people (remaining conscious of the fast changing reality or the exponential rise of Islamists and hence, the fast approaching nemesis to Bengal) that Bangaon area of District: 24 Paraganas (North) happen to be one of the most vulnerable sectors to illegal migration of Islamists, clandestine onslaughts from Bangladesh and also a more potent bastion of cattle smuggling.

A series of investigations were conducted by Hindu Samhati earlier to portray the truth (horrendous in every sense of the term) there. See: http://hindusamhati.blogspot.in/2011/10/armed-bangladeshi-muslim-intruders_14.html; http://hindusamhati.blogspot.in/2012/01/hindu-samhati-activists-save-sutia.html). And what had been found was indeed shocking. In spite of the presence of BSF in the concerned areas, lawlessness reigned supreme and the main reason behind this happened to be the helplessness of the force; it was unable to fire a single shot, owing to a weird order of the Union Government of India giving a free rein to intruders from other side of the border ultimately.

A similar study was conducted on March 25, 2012 in Bangaon and this was to take the existing reality into consideration. And the approach not devoid of reasons too; Hindu Samhati office’s phones continue to ring regularly – calls are made by Hindus of the same area, finding it impossible to live there and looking at Hindu Samhati as the last citadel of Hindu resistance.

What did the fact-finding team find in Bangaon at this time? Was it good or was there any marked difference to that of the earlier investigations? There was no such! And what more has come to light – with each day it passes, condition of Bangaon is getting worse. Reasons? Authentic facts along with versions of villagers and also BSF personnel (off the record) do prove that thousands of cows (if not more) are being smuggled into Bangladesh on a daily basis. And being unable to retrain intruders (aforementioned central government’s order being supreme), frustration is rising among rank and file of the force leading to rampant corruption altogether.

Haven’t Hindus in Bangaon protested? The only answer to this is lots and apart from the vulnerability of national security, they have their own reasons as well. On account of the passage of cattle through farm lands, agriculture of Hindus has become a great casualty. What is more striking, their houses are also not spared. There are other reasons, in addition. While crossing the river and Baor (a form of dead river where water is not flowing), lots of cows do drop dead. Cows can’t put up with such long journeys. And the corpses are dumped either in the woods or the river; almost a hundred dead cows are found to float in water frequently, risking the environment to large extent. People are compelled to accept the unbearable smell too.

Local people, as a result, are finding it difficult to count on the local administration; virtually, their dependence is on the brink of collapse. Only a few days back, Bangladeshi infiltrators got hold of a BSF jawan in Angrail village and broke his head.

Reports do confirm, in last 6 months, direct clashes (100 as a minimum) took place between Bangladeshi infiltrators (Islamsits) and Hindus/or BSF. Hindus, under the auspices of Hindu Samhati activists, in Bangaon are waging a desperate struggle to save themselves and also the nation on the whole. Without doubt, Hindu Samhati activists are risking their own lives thus.

We are posing a humble question to government, therefore. What ails the government? What makes them incapable to save the nation whereas Hindus in Bangaon are hell-bent in this regard?

Hindus in Basirhat persecuted gravely

Islamists are on the rampage

History does change at each moment and every moment does bring forth a novel anecdote – Hindus of Bengal are witnessing the same at the moment – it’s an unrestrained growth of Islamic fundamentalism – hell-bent to unleash a complete hell on Hindus.

On March 25, 2012, at 9 am, while Hindus were engaged in setting up their new business hub, a few Islamists appeared on the scene. Claiming the land as theirs, they asked Hindus to desert the tract right away. When on earth Hindus (stunned) refused to do so, foul languages were used against them; Islamists did rampage soon.  The foremost intention was to uproot Hindus, end their enterprises in any way. The mob comprised almost 90 Islamists including Sheikh Motiar Mandal, Sirajul Mandal, Rubiul Islam, Abdullah Mandal, Selim Mandal, Khaliullah Mandal.

Does an Islamist have the prerogative to oppress Hindus?

Baladevpur depicts it terribly

It’s the prerogative of an Islamist to perturb (in any means) and hamper Hindus; if Hindus, as a counter-measure, get tough and teach them a lesson, Islamists will make Hindu lives dreadful – this is the newest trend in Bengal, being experienced by village: Baladevpur, P.S. Mandirbazar, Sub-division: Diamond Harbor, District: 24 Paraganas (South) – like several other areas throughout Bengal – at the moment.

Hindus in Bangladesh remain the worst lot

 Religious persecutions go on

There has never been any end to human rights movements in Bangladesh, hue and cry in the Indian state of Bengal  (though much feeble than what is expected) against the methodical religious persecutions on Hindus in Bangladesh.  Nevertheless, the saga of persecutions goes on there and Hindus become the first and foremost casualty.

Make India “bleed through a thousand cuts” – Kolkata witnessing repeatedly

If contemporary events are brought under a constant, efficient scanner free of any preconception, it has got to be deduced that Islamists’ power is on the rise in the Indian state of Bengal and with each day its passes, Islamist notion of usurping power, owing to both incompetence and gutlessness of administration, not to speak of imbecile Hindus, is gaining a stronger footing. Well, myriad of articles can be written of how to stop these and what should be done by the administration; nevertheless, at each time, administration and social order (eventually) turn into the greatest casualties.

Islamist persecutions on Hindus or muscle-flexing are getting higher all over Bengal; while its rural sector has become breeding-grounds of such activities by now, Kolkata, one and only bastion of Bengali Hindus across the globe, is also falling apart steadily. How can this be explained? Indeed, a brilliant implementation of Ziaul-Haq’s (former President of Pakistan) policy of utilizing terrorism to make India “bleed through a thousand cuts” is taking place these days. And if the discontent mob can be used terrorism can be brushed aside for the time being. After all, any act of terrorism entails amounts as well.

The recent Islamist experiment in Kolkata that stalled the entire metropolis and even its outskirts is fresh still.  A picture, published on Monday in t2, the entertainment supplementary of Kolkata-based English daily The Telegraph, was accused for defiling own faith by Islamists. The picture, to be precise, displayed nude image of a model holding a frame of Lord Vishnu (face replaced with that of Sachin Tendulkar) and a Pakistani cricket player (in green dress with the cricket team’s star insignia ) performing a ‘sajda’ before it.

Kolkata, as a result, turned into a hapless witness of a complete stalemate. Roads were blocked by people to have a justice whereas Raja Bazar and Park Circus area, traditional Islamist bastions in Kolkata, perceived greater wrath. The same fire was observed in two premier districts of the state, 24 Paraganas (North) and Howrah. By the way, Hindus had enough reasons to protest since it was a morphed picture of Lord Vishnu, face being replaced with that of Sachin Tendulkar and holding a cricket bat, a cricket ball, a trophy and a helmet. But Islamists took the cudgel of responsibility to react.

The trouble was controlled within hours; but it was neither a defeat of Islamists nor a victory of administration and even if the administration prefers to deem it as victory, it’s nothing other than a pyrrhic victory (victory that is won by incurring terrible losses) virtually. And the reasons behind this are not unfounded. Similar problems, even more vicious in capacity, did rise up in the last few years; police and administration, hell-bent to cajole governmental parties only, acted naively to deal with those and the same tradition of committing mistakes in a row has been going on.

The Islamist protestation against Taslima Nasrin on November 21, 2007, and its intensity remains a scourge for inhabitants in Kolkata still. The violent protest was led by “All India Minority Forum”; its force was such that Army was called in to deal with the fast deteriorating law and order situation. To quell any more crises, administration succumbed to Islamists completely then and Taslima Nasrin was expelled outright.

Again, on February 11, 2009, Ravindra Kumar and Anand Sinha, the editor and publisher of the Kolkata-based English daily The Statesman, were arrested for "hurting the religious feelings" of Muslims. All they did was to reprint an article from The Independent - "Why should I respect oppressive religions? “by Johann Hari (eminent columnist). The main focus of the article was Hari’s belief that the right to criticize any religion was being eroded across the globe.

The editor and publisher were charged under section 295A of the Indian Penal Code, known for prohibiting "deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings". Later the duo was bailed out and Mr. Ravindra Kumar released an apology in public for reproducing the article. But what reigned supreme in this regard were the fervid protests of Islamists that almost paralyzed various areas of Central Kolkata for almost a week and the capitulation of administration to it.

Meanwhile, though not in Kolkata, but in Deganga, in the month of September, 2010, Islamists unleashed a complete hell on Hindus there – an incident that rocked both the Indian and global scenarios.

All these prove with onslaughts of Islamists more, administration is turning out to be more and more fragile and unless apposite measures are adopted before long, horrors of days of 1946-47 may turn up.

But the pertinent question is – who can complete the task and save India from the fast impending danger.

Prime Minister’s Package: The Long Betrayal

by Mohan Krishen Teng

Reports appearing in the Indian press, emanating from the statement made by the Home Ministry in Parliament, on the eve of the 22nd anniversary of the exodus of the community of Hindus from Kashmir, that not a single family living in exile had availed of the Prime Minister’s Package, should give no cause for any surprise.

What should cause surprise is the belief that the Indian Prime Minister and the men around him harboured the thought that the Hindus of Kashmir living in refugee camps in Jammu and other parts of India should have returned to Kashmir to live in refugee camps there at the charity of the Muslims and the mercy of separatist flanks who are leading the so-called struggle for freedom of Kashmir from the ‘occupation’ of the Indian army.

Learn religious persecutions on Hindus in Bangladesh

Be active, raise your voice in protest

The saga of religious persecutions on Hindus in Bangladesh is never-ending. It has never ended and there are no indications of its end in a little while.

Nevertheless, in spite of the continuation of this inhuman saga for decades, there has never been any relief or assistance to Hindus, unlike others especially Palestinians, from globally acclaimed organizations. What we have seen in all these years is a lip service that falls through at every time it is made. So this time tested effeteness is of no use at the moment. What we can do at this hour is to know the existing reality and raise our voices, convince others also to raise their voices in the global arena against this crime against humanity.

Kolkata Islamists protesting against insulting Pakistani cricketer!

What the metropolis of Kolkata witnessed today is not anything new these days – people just went on the rampage throughout the town, and the players in this chronicle are much known as well – Islamists, determined ever to make use of any issue and thus, hold the state to ransom. How can the use of a picture, published on Monday in t2, the entertainment supplementary of Kolkata-based English daily The Telegraph, be avoided then? The picture portrayed nude image of a model holding a frame of Lord Vishnu (face replaced with that of Sachin Tendulkar) and a Pakistani cricket player (in green dress with the cricket team’s star insignia ) performing a ‘sajda’ before it.

According to Islamists, such a portrayal happens to be the worst case of defilement of Islam and it can’t be allowed to go on. And what happened next is known to us already.  There was a din throughout Kolkata and outskirts of the metropolis. It has also come to the knowledge that Islamists in different parts of Bengal, especially 24 Paraganas (North) and Howrah, took active part in the saga of preserving faith. However, as expected, Raja Bazar and Park Circus area, traditional of Muslim bastions in Kolkata, proved to be worst affected.

But there is a question as well. What is foremost reason behind this resentment?  While there are enough reasons for Hindus getting infuriated (the prime being doctored image of Lord Vishnu, face being replaced with that of Sachin Tendulkar and holding a cricket bat, a cricket ball, a trophy and a helmet as well), Islamists took the cudgel of responsibility to resent.

Without doubt, Islamists would not express infuriation of Hindus. What irked them then?  Was it the “sajda” before an idol only or the humiliation of a Pakistani cricketer or the trouncing of Pakistan by India in Asia Cup? We are yet to know the answer.

Expectantly Bengal administration is also groping in darkness still of the basis of this untoward development. What do we consider that this is culmination of the three said factors (clubbed meticulously) and thus to flex muscles and comprehend the strength of administration.

Even if The Telegraph has already made an apology in public stating, “A tweet by @iPoonampandey was reproduced in t2 on March 19 because of a technical error. The Telegraph had no intention to hurt the sentiments of any community. We apologise for publishing the tweet,” the issue refuses to end here.

We do believe that each person has the right to comply with his/her religious views and also to protest if it is assailed at any time. But any effort to derail social life for poking fun at demoralized Pakistan cricket team for its defeat to India is anti-national or an act of treason without a shred of doubt.

Can the Bengal administration be counted on still to express the main factor of resentment in clear terms?

Islamists stop Krishna arati in Deganga

What’s next?

How is Deganga at the moment?  This single question does perturb individuals at times and there are, indeed, enough reasons behind it. It was the month of September, 2010 when the name of Deganga rocked the Indian scenario – witnessing the worst form of persecutions on Hindus by Islamists.

And even after deployment of security forces by the then Bengal government to quell such ominous developments, nothing fruitful did happen. Nevertheless, after lots of hues and cries then the ominous situation for Hindus there did improve but it has never been stable thus far. And the recent harrowing experiences of Hindus depict once more that nothing has changed in Deganga.

Why should I respect these oppressive religions?

Whenever a religious belief is criticised, its adherents say they're victims of 'prejudice'

By Johann Hari

The right to criticise religion is being slowly doused in acid. Across the world, the small, incremental gains made by secularism – giving us the space to doubt and question and make up our own minds – are being beaten back by belligerent demands that we "respect" religion. A historic marker has just been passed, showing how far we have been shoved. The UN rapporteur who is supposed to be the global guardian of free speech has had his job rewritten – to put him on the side of the religious censors.

Islamists molest Hindu girl in Madhyakolra in public; Hindus fuming

Can deployment of RAF quell mounting danger of Islamists simply?

The village of Madhyakolra, located in the jurisdiction of P.S. Domjur, District: Howrah, Indian state of Bengal, is once more in flames and as fresh reports are coming in the entire area is being guarded by RAF owing to an untoward development – molestation of an 18 year old Hindu girl by a group of Islamists today in the evening.

It has been learnt, the innocent girl, in the evening, was delighting in Fuchka in the local market area when the aforementioned Muslim ruffians, roving like a pack of mad dogs in search of Hindu girls always, got hold of him. They snatched her dupatta (accessory of Churidar) all of a sudden and when she endeavored to resist them, the goons simply pounced on her. And as a part of grievous molestation her clothing was ripped.

Hindus youths, present there, protested against this outrageous act right away and this protest was followed by a violent attack of the same Islamists on them. Hindu youths also defended and finding it too difficult to overpower Hindus there, Islamists signaled their co-religionists and soon a large violent mob of Islamists gathered there. Without more ado, they started knocking Hindus.

Hindus, in throngs, also gathered soon and what followed was nothing other than a ghastly battle between two communities (at daggers drawn for more than a millennium).

Incidentally (prior to this report), the village was in news - owing to a steep onslaught of local Muslims, led by Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators, on Hindus as regards a pond.

A painstaking study of the situation (then) by this scribe and his colleagues discerned harrowing experiences of Hindus (reeling under great pains for violent attacks of Islamists). An official complaint was lodged to the local police and administration but apart from verbal assurances nothing was perceptible virtually.

And what has happened today is beyond the imagination of any sane individual.

Without doubt, it can easily be discerned had the administration been active to restrain Islamists such a shocking incident could have been avoided. Not to speak of Islamists, administration must also be put on the dock for such an untoward development.

What is going to be the fate of Hindus of Madhyakolra then? Was the faith of Hindus on the legal system of India the greatest fault?

Have the legal institutions in Bengal ceased to exist or whether Hindus must regroup like the days of partition in 1947 to save themselves?

Hindus demand an answer straight away. Administration must realize that everything has a limit and Hindus’ patience is not infinite.
