Does bombing Charlie Hebdo denote rise of militant Islam in France, then Europe?

The continuing and also raging debate whether it’s better to call Europe or term it as Eurabia has intensified (to a new level) with the destruction of the office of Charlie Hebdo, highly popular French weekly in Paris. The office was completely ravaged by a petrol-bomb attack on early Wednesday – only a day after it adverted Prophet Mohammed as its "editor-in-chief" for this week's issue. However, the magazine, in a hushed tone, has stated that the entire approach was made for rejoicing the sensational victory of Ennhada, known Islamist party in the recent election in Tunisia.

An Essay Towards Balkanisation

By Dr. Santosh Bhattacharya

Dr. Santosh Bhattacharyya, ex-Vice-Chancellor of the Calcutta University, known for his Left leanings, happened to be a distinguished economist and also a stubborn advocate for the maintenance of independence of educational institutions from meddling political interference of the government in narrow partisan interests.

Through this essay (smart as a whip) published in The Statesman Kolkata 28 Sep 2010 edition he analysed the perilous implications of caste-based reservations among Muslims in India – which, according to him, happens to be the best way to bring about balkanization of India in next to no time.

He, at the ripe old age of 87, breathed his last on March 27, 2011 at his residence in Kolkata.

Stop Cow Slaughter – Now

We have already reported that heralding a historic decision, through an interim order, a Division Bench of Hon’ble Calcutta High Court has asked the state to put the provisions West Bengal Animal Slaughter (Control) Act, 1950, if any cow slaughter on Bakr-e-Id is brought to its notice, into operation. (Kindly go through http://hindusamhati.blogspot.com/2011/10/calcutta-high-court-gets-tough-on-cow.html to learn the matter in depth).

And there is hardly any doubt that the stern observation of Calcutta High Court of the same has stimulated Hindus, after centuries, to hope for a day when there will not be any form of slaughter of cows and hence, no affront to Hinduism in any way.

Now the question remains whether the state administration defying its own craving for Muslim votes, to save its own skin and kith and kin, will dare to implement the same. The issue is quite clear – there can’t be any more deception to Hindus. Whether the reigning Bengal government, conforming to judicial instructions, can put an end to cow slaughter is a matter to be observed but any failure on its part is not a contempt of court only but a gross failure to safeguard Hindu conviction also.

Cow slaughter has got to be stopped – come what may or else aggrieved Hindus will realize once again that laws of Union of India are effete to save their dignity – a realization that will vitiate (ruin) coming days only.

The Importance of the Cow in Vedic Culture

Cow is not simply an animal but does exemplify Hinduism in its entirety. This can be found from an assortment of instances recorded in ancient Hindu scriptures even.

Subramanian Swamy, eminent Indian politician, academician and also economist, present-day president of the Janata Party, India, has illustrated the eminence of cow in the Hindu culture with brilliance and has also narrated how cow protection makes sound economic and ecological sense.

As per him, Swami Dayananda Saraswati, convenor of the Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha, has argued that non-vegetarianism indirectly contributes heavily to greenhouse gases and other pollution.

Muslims should end cow slaughter once and for all in India

Eid-ul-zuha or Bakra eid is going to take place on November 7, 2011 and likewise (akin to the previous years) whole of India is apprehensive of an impending danger, if not more. What is the reason behind this apprehension? After all it is a religious festival and being a Sovereign, Secular, Democratic Republic, Union of India enables every citizen of India to conform to his/her religious belief and practice it without any fear or coercion! This happens to be the core belief of any sane Indian but what he/she remains ignorant of happens to be the missing link behind bloody rough-and-tumble every year. Bakra eid has become the greatest embodiment of cow slaughter, a saga getting more and more prominent hurting Hindu sentiment majorly.

Here is a small note on Eid-ul-zuha. In a nutshell, this festival, on each year, is celebrated on the 10th of the month Zilhaj, of Islamic calendar. Why is it known as Bakra eid also? The sole reason behind this is that, in accordance with Islamic tradition across the globe, each Muslim, capable enough to earn beyond a specific limit, has got to slaughter a goat or sheep (bakra), or any other animal big halal animal and dish it out into three parts. What’s the division then? While the owner keeps one part, the other two parts go to his relatives and impoverished human beings respectively.

The day has another great significance too. Eid-ul-zuha, to cut a long story short, does denote the event of Ibrahim when he was ready enough to sacrifice his child for the sake of God.

Had the celebration remained up to this, it would have been best. But in India problem begins and heightens with the Muslims’ insistence to sacrifice and slaughter cows instead of (traditionally) goat or bakra hurting Hindu sentiments a great deal. Don’t the Muslims know the Hindu grievance in this regard? Hindus and Muslims have been living in India for more than a millennium side by side; any such justification of dearth of knowledge, hence, falls flat.

The reality is that cow happens to be the most sacred animal to Hinduism known hitherto. Lord Krishna was himself a cowherd while bull is the one and only vehicle of Lord Shiva. Cow, as a result, is no longer an animal but does epitomize Hinduism in its entirety. Here are a few anecdotes to authenticate the sanctity of cows in ancient Hindu scriptures as well. In Mahabharata, Bhishma says: "Cows represent sacrifice. Without them, there can be no sacrifice…Cows are guileless in their behavior and from them flow sacrifices…and milk and curds and butter. Hence cows are sacred...." As per him, cow is nothing other than a surrogate mother as she renders milk to human beings for the whole life.

Even in Puranas, ancient Hindu scriptures, copious references of sanctitude of cows are present. It is said there in glowing terms that nothing is more holier-than-thou than the gift of cows. "There is no gift that produces more blessed merit." Lord Rama was given a wedding gift of thousands of cows and bullocks when he married Sita.

Cow was elevated to divinity in the Rig Veda as well. In Book VI, Hymn XXVIII attributed to Rishi Bhardwaja extols the virtue of the cow. In Atharva Veda (Book X, Hymn X), the cow is formally designated as Vishnu, and `all that the Sun surveys'.

All the aforementioned instances are enough to corroborate divinity of cows in Hinduism and certainly among Hindus and how any harm to her ever can hurt Hindu conscience. Why do not Muslims call slaughtering cows on Eid-ul-zuha or Bakra eid a halt honoring such a Hindu conviction then? Islam emanates from Arabic culture and cow remains absent in that part of the globe. The word Bakra, therefore, in no way relates to cow; it can surely be replaced by goat or sheep or any other animal in the Indian context.

The time has come for Muslims in India to revere the Hindu mindset and put a stop to cow slaughter (becoming more and more prominent) once and for all.

Retrospect Islamic Genocide in Bengal, 1971

What has been the extent of Islamic genocide of Hindus in the Indian subcontinent till now? There is surely no straight answer to this question; numbers of victims do vary as to some persons either it remains around 70 million while some other historians affirm that it is no less than 80 million. The disaster that started with the downfall of King Dahir, last independent Hindu king of Sindh in AD 712, reached the culmination in 1971 when hell was unleashed on Hindus in then East Pakistan through an overt Islamic genocide.

Even if the greater part of the world prefers to retain a silence or talk of it in a hushed tone, Crisis in South Asia - Report to US Senate, 1971 by Senator Edward Kennedy exhibits how cruel Islamic onslaughts can be.

The report ends with this paragraph ……………… “Nothing is more clear, or more easily documented, than the systematic campaign of terror-and its genocidal consequences-launched by the Pakistani army on the night of March 25th. Field reports to the U.S government, countless eye-witness journalistic accounts, reports from international agencies such as the World Bank, and additional information available to the Subcommitte document the continuing reign of terror which grips East Bengal. Hardest hit have been members of the Hindu community who have been robbed of their lands and shops, systematically slaughtered, and, in some places, painted with yellow patches marked “H”. All of this has been officially sanctioned, ordered and implemented under martial law from Islamabad. America’s heavy support of Islamabad is nothing short of complicity in the human and political tragedy of East Bengal.”

Does Jibantala ink Hindu obituary in Bengal to begin with?

We have been receiving frantic calls from people across the state of Bengal, other states of India and even abroad to make known a full-fledged and unbiased report of the horrendous developments in Jibantala of late –that rocked the saga of security once more and posed serious questions to the reigning administration, hell-bent to placate Muslims to garner minority support day in and day out.

Even if an official statement of Sri Tapan Ghosh, president, Hindu Samhati of the fast deteriorating situation in Bengal and administration’s mounting helplessness (in both Kulpi and Jibantala) has already been published ( Statement of Sri Tapan Ghosh, president, Hindu Samhati – Kindly refer to http://hindusamhati.blogspot.com/2011/10/statement-of-sri-tapan-ghosh-president.html), saluting aspirations of people to know the reality we are bringing forth the truth.

You have a single task. It is to evaluate the entire matter without prejudice – read the writing on the wall and decide what should be done.

On October 26, 2011 a band of police personnel comprising S.I. Parimal Bhadra and 4 constables, of P.S. Jibantala of Canning, prominent town and also community development block in Dist. 24 Paraganas (South), Bengal, went to Kalibari area of Jibnatala to take a noted criminal named Kutubuddin Khan alias Kutub into custody. What has not been mentioned in the mainstream media (or expunged intentionally) is that Kutubuddin Khan was the leader of infamous Kargil Army – known for persecuting Hindus in the environs in all possible ways – be it extortion, kidnapping or murder. It has been learnt that police (at that time) got a tip that Kutub was busy in plundering.

When on earth Kutub was nabbed red-handed, almost 500 villagers of Kalibari including women (all Muslims) encircled the police team and in a while snatched their rifles and started thrashing them inhumanely. The extent of the beating was such that the police team had to drop by the wayside (admit defeat) only. A large police contingent, comprising police personnel of several adjoining police stations, hearing of the grievous situation, went there and tackled the situation but by that time the murderous gathering got able to run off with Kutub. One constable, named Subrata Mukherjee, owing to a great injury was admitted to the Canning Mahakuma Hospital while others were released after primary treatment.

Kutubuddin Khan alias Kutub is still at large and police is leaving no stone unturned to arrest him. Well, how much confident they are now (in this case) can be told best by them. At least 60 cases of robberies and felonies are recorded against Kutub in different police stations of (Districts) both 24 Paraganas (North and South) along with Hooghly.

There are several implications of this event, without a shred of doubt. It occurs within two days of the atrocious development in Kulpi, Diamond Harbour, District – 24 Parganas (South) (on October 24, 2011). Here at least 30, 000 Muslims, if not more, went on the rampage, ransacking local BDO (Block Development Office) and Kulpi police station from the early morning (Kindly turn to – Armed Bangladeshi Muslim intruders plunder bordering Hindu village in India - http://hindusamhati.blogspot.com/2011/10/armed-bangladeshi-muslim-intruders_14.html - for your kind perusal and reference).

Another significance is that police and administration, especially in District – 24 Parganas (South), (as per info) has got panic-stricken and is giving second thoughts prior to any such expedition in future. Again the manner in which Muslim civilians (armed with traditional weapons), in both cases, got dauntless and virtually defeated the administration defying jurisprudence of the land is one of the most unusual episodes known hitherto in Bengal.

Such incidents do happen but rarely – only in times of civil war or when people, as a whole, stops to have faith in political, social and economic framework of the land or its elected representatives and their wise promises altogether. If the memory is conferred a trust upon, these incidents became order of the day in the Muslim-dominated areas during the heyday of Pakistan movement.

Is any such future harbingering doomsday of Hindus approaching fast?
